What Are We Building in This Workshop?
At our hempcrete building workshop site, we’re constructing a rooftop staff accommodation for a hospital using bamboo and iron truss for support. The walls are being built with hempcrete, a sustainable material made from hemp shives and lime, offering excellent insulation and environmental benefits. To ensure energy efficiency, the roof will be insulated with a combination of hemp, lime and bamboo. Finally, we’ll apply a lime plaster, completing the eco-friendly design.
