This isn’t a workshop where you sit and watch
For four days, you’ll work directly with hempcrete and lime plaster – learning the materials, understanding the techniques and building with your own hands.
We’ve intentionally kept the group small so every participant gets meaningful practical experience.
What You’ll Experience
Hands-on Hempcrete
Work through the process of preparing and placing hempcrete and build an actual wall together.
Hands-on Lime Plaster
Learn surface preparation, mixing and application of lime plaster and basic natural finishes.
Begin Each Day Mindfully
Each morning starts with a guided meditation before we begin working.
Learn Together
A small group creates space for questions, conversations and meaningful connections.
Eat Together
Breakfast and lunch are included throughout the workshop.
Living Naturally Dinner
On the first evening, we’ll share a local organic, home-cooked dinner, network and connect.
Meet the Instructor: Dhiraj Kumar Shah
Natural Building Practitioner | Hempcrete & Natural Materials
His experience spans hempcrete homes, institutional buildings, community projects, lime finishes, material development and hands-on training of local builders and practitioners.
Dhiraj is one of the pioneers of hempcrete construction in Nepal and has been working with hemp, lime & bamboo-based building systems since 2016. As co-founder of Shah Hemp Inno-Ventures, he has spent the last decade experimenting with, building, and refining natural construction systems suited to Nepal’s climate and local materials.
At Build Naturally 2026, Dhiraj will lead participants through the practical aspects of hempcrete construction and natural building—sharing not just techniques, but the lessons that come from actually building with these materials.
